Why Taper Pillow Corners?

Some of the pillow covers we make are done with tapered corners. So what does it mean?
It might seem like a geometric rule-breaker, but a pillow cover that is cut out with perfectly straight corners, does not look like a square pillow anymore when an insert is inside. Instead of crisp straight edges, the sides curve in toward the center and the corners are floppy introducing what’s called a “dog-eared corners” problem. That is why you see a slight curve at each corner of your pillow cover – it creates a better square!
